From the catalogue Variations in Landscape: "So what does this exhibited body of art represent? This history with its various elements of the physical, spiritual, as well as critical components of the ‘landscape’ of Southwestern Ontario as well as places I’ve travelled and art I have studied. Within are elements of geometry: Thames River Rapids, 2009 is the first artwork where I incorporated some geometry utilizing colour blocking; Six by Six, 2024 the latest. Like Watson, these are not “faithful depictions” but rather the “sum total of my experiences.” They are conceptual, addressing ideas of place, of language, and are intended to have an impact of the viewer. They capture the spiritual beauty of our nation, as in Searching for the Spirit of Emily Carr, 2024 and the physical, yet imagined, Lookout Point, 2024," (PP. 26-27). The image while imagined is drawn from the St. Lawrence River between Quebec City and the New Brunswick Border. It includes a naturalistic image with a hard edge abstract border.

Love the new artwork in my office and living room. It lifts us up everyday, acts as a conversation piece in Zoom calls, and we love the most being able to support artists in our communities as well.
